Problem with Mormons

With the success of Proposition 8 there's been alot of buzz around the internets (seriously) about the Mormons. This was nothing new to me as it all started with the movie the latter day saints and than the subsequent historical information on the church. So it did not come much of a surprise to me they would be a problem eventually, much like scientologists, islam, jews, and christians are most of the time. Just kidding... well not really but it's hard NOT to see religion being the center of most problems on earth. In either case with the Mormons, I am particular worried for one simple reason. MONEY.

Members of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donate 10 percent of their income to the church. This is an insane amount considering other countries are much lower (which is a tax). Also the generous nature of the United States with taxes(there is none compared to the world) especially with the long presidency of George Bush provided alot of churches with money to spare. Also mormon young men between ages of 19 and 25 go through a missionary program that lasts 18 months (usually paid by parents). Even retired married coupons are encouraged to serve which makes the Mormon Church the wealthiest church per capita and dangerously evangelical. Which is ok if it can respect civil rights but almost no religious entity can separate the two and anyone who claims they can are lying.

So that's the problem. From the hotels you stay like the Mariott to the books you read like Twilight which is coming to theaters; the money the mormons make from the public gets funneled into making the mormon state larger and more dangerous. Fortunately the church is engaged in baptizing every human being in the world (even the dead) regardless if you are a current member. Damned if you do and Damned if you don't.
